Gavin Stuart
Just who is Gavin Stuart. Well he is known by many names, Gav, ‘The Gavinator’, Wilfred or good old Numb Nuts, and its a good chance he is the guy kicking your arse. Or at least mine. Gav has had an amazing season and it seems like it has gone on forever.
It started way back in August at the Yeppoon half Ironman, with an 10th place finish in his age group, and finished in late April at the Japan Strongman, with a 4th placed age group finish and 26th place overall. Along the way he competed in another 2 half Ironman races, 2 Olympic distance events and all 6 Gatorade sprint distance races in Melbourne.
Maybe the most impressive thing about Gav’s season is that every time he toed the start line he recorded a pb. His improvements were most obvious in the Gatorade series, were last season he managed one top 20 finish, this season he finished every race in the top ten. To top this off Gav qualified for the top 5 shoot out in the final race. He smashed his way onto the podium for a 3rd place finish which also clinched 3rd place for the series. On top of that his placing in the 3 half Ironman events got him a 3rd overall, in his age group, for that series. A great testament to the hard training he has put in this year. Now thats the.....
